A touching story that really reflects the importance of our parents, in which their values often resonate within us, even when their gone. And I commend the author for their good deed to the waitress that seemed to be having an off day.

Good News!

As he watched wounded troops being brought inside the hospital on stretchers, Michael Conklin couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“You see this stuff in movies, but I was watching it happen,” said Conklin, recalling a 2003 visit to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington. “There were so many casualties coming in — busloads of them.”

Conklin made the visit to learn more about the needs of wounded servicemen and women. The needs were overwhelming.

“When these guys come back from war, they are broken,” he said, reflecting on the missing limbs, traumatic brain injuries and other devastating wounds he observed.

Conklin’s eldest son, Kris, was treated at Walter Reed in 2003, after his Humvee was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade in Iraq. He recovered from his injuries, but his dad was heartbroken when he realized that other wounded troops didn’t have the support his son did.

A beautiful acts of kindness!

One Day at a Time

So I sat down to write today’s post and this was all I could come up with:

“I decided to try again today to leave flowers on someone’s car. I was out grocery shopping and bought a pretty bouquet of flowers. I left them on a car and drove off. I hope that they brightened someone’s day.”

I really need to sit down and brainstorm more ideas. I am only 4 days in and I am not being very creative! I am also going to call on anyone reading this post. If you have any ideas please leave a comment and let me know what they are. I need to get the ball rolling here!! 🙂

Good Deeds will always result in smiles!

Savant Dreaming

An old woman came by the store and begged for anything. She said she’s hungry and she looks so frail and my heart dropped. I can’t understand why their kids leave them to beg on the streets for alms and food. I can never abandon my parents even if they’re unfair to me most of the time. I can never disown my parents after all the things they did for me. There really should be more retirement homes. These people doesn’t deserve to starve and die on the streets. That old lady looks so pitiful and so I gave her something to eat. The smile she gave me when she got the bread was heartbreaking. She looks so grateful and she even exclaimed ‘Salamat sa Dyos!’ (‘Thank God!’)

It’s Christmas and it’s a time for sharing. A little act of kindness will go a long way and for sure, you…
